CCP Designation Requirements

Once the basic requirements for eligibility have been met, the following successful completion of courses in the Life and Annuity, Health or Property & Casualty concentrations need to be met for the CCP designation:

Life and Annuity Concentration

Complete AIRC 410 Regulatory Compliance: Companies, Producers and Operations

Complete AIRC 420 Regulatory Compliance: Insurance and Annuity Products

Complete one of the following:

  • LOMA 320 — Marketing Life & Health Insurance
  • AAPA Marketing, Distribution & Uses of Annuities
  • LOMA 326 Financial Services Marketing
  • AAPA 303 Systems and Administration
  • NAIC Integrating Market Regulation
  • NAIC Market Analysis Education Course

Complete one elective course from the following:

  • LOMA 301 Insurance Administration
  • LOMA 330 Management Principles & Practices
  • LOMA 361 — Accounting & Financial Reporting in Life Insurance
  • AAPA 313 Financial Aspects
  • AAPA 323 — Regulation and Taxation
  • NAIC How to Analyze Insurer Portfolios
  • NAIC Regulating for Solvency
  • Course in member's specialized area (pre-approved by the Education Committee)


Health Concentration (3 Required)

Property and Casualty (3 Required)

Complete CPCU 530 The Legal Environment of Insurance

Complete one of the following:

  • AIAF 111 — Statutory Accounting for Property Casualty Insurers
  • CPCU 540 — Finance for Risk Management & Insurance Professionals
  • AFE4 Property and Liability Insurance Accounting

Complete one of the following:

  • CAS Part 5 — Introduction to Property and Casualty Insurance and Ratemaking
  • CPCU 560 Financial Services Institutions
  • AIC 33 Claim Handling Principles and Practices
  • AIC 34 Workers' Comp and Managing Bodily Injury Claims
  • APA 91 Principles of Premium Auditing
  • Are 144 Reinsurance Principles and Practices
  • ASLI 163 Surplus Lines Insurance Operations
  • CFE 2 Analysis and Evaluation Procedure, or
  • AICP's Ratemaking — What the State Filer Needs to Know

One elective course in your specialized area (i.e. personal lines insurance, commercial property/casualty insurance, law for insurance professionals, etc.) AICPCU courses excluded for the purpose of meeting this requirement are: Introduction to Property & Liability Insurance, Introduction to Claims, Introduction to Risk Management, and Introduction to Underwriting.
