Fellow Chapter Members,

Your Northwest Chapter Board has begun our year with many great ideas and thoughts for successful ventures to carry us through 2012. Our Chapter Finance Committee, led by John Haworth as our Chapter Treasurer, developed a Chapter budget. The budget was reviewed by the NW Chapter Board and approved. The approved budget plus the support of our E-day sponsors (Wolters Kluwer Financial Services, Thomson Reuters Accelus, Safeco, IIPRC, Standard Insurance Company, Mutual of Enumclaw, and the Washington Surveying and Rating Bureau) provides the funding to plan an Education Day for you in a great new location in downtown Seattle. Our Education Day is shaping up quite nicely, with many P&C, Life, Health and Annuity topics to choose from. There will definitely be something for everyone! More information on this great event will be emailed to you during April and May.

The National Board of Directors met in January. Some very exciting topics were addressed at our National Board Meeting:

1. A Task Force was created last October for one of the AICP's primary initiatives, i.e. how we as an organization might use Social Media. A lot of great ideas are coming from the Social Media Task Force.
2. The Conference Planning Committee discussed plans for our Conference in San Antonio and what is in store for members. It promises to be another stellar Annual Conference.
3. The Marketing Committee will be reviewing and updating marketing materials to ensure consistency of our use of brand and to market the value the AICP brings to its members and the insurance compliance community.
4. The Finance Committee presented a national budget which, with minor modification, was approved by the National Board. It demonstrates the continuing fiscal prudence by the AICP as it funds activities and initiatives that will support our AICP mission.
5. The Government & Industry Relations Committee discussed its plans to continue with its outreach program to new regulatory leaders in our industry to communicate the value of the AICP.
6. The Education Committee continues to review our professional designation program to make sure it recognizes the ongoing professional development of AICP members through completion of educational courses.
7. The Website Committee continues to look for ways to revitalize our AICP website as well as to add to its functionality.
8. And, much much more!

You may be assured that both our national organization and our NW Chapter pursue planning events, activities and initiatives that bring value to you, our members.
