The mission statement of the AICP states that it "serves the insurance compliance community by promoting relationships, exchanging information, and providing learning opportunities within a dynamic regulatory environment." One way of fulfilling this mission is by promoting our organization within the higher education institutions and providing our members with information regarding educational opportunities within these institutions.
The "Listing of colleges and universities offering degrees/certificates in insurance and/or risk management" lists colleges and universities that offer undergraduate or graduate degrees/certificates in insurance (including actuarial science) or risk management. The directory listing is alphabetical by state location beginning with the name of the school and Web site address.
If the higher education institution offers a degree, the listing also indicates the degree offered, major, curriculum, whether on-line courses are offered. In addition, it may provide miscellaneous comments regarding the school and/or program offered.
If the college offers a certificate, the listing provides the program description, curriculum, whether on-line courses are offered. As with colleges offering degrees, it also includes miscellaneous comments regarding the school and/or program offered.
Did you know that some colleges/universities give credit hours for insurance certifications that you may have? Some colleges/universities will also give you credit hours for work experience. Just be sure to send your transcripts from any designation you may hold along with an updated resume to the college/university with your college application.
