As luck would have it, this will be the 3rd time I have had the pleasure of serving as President of the Northwest Chapter. And I couldn't be more excited!”
You might ask why I would be so excited to do this again. The answer is simple -- this is my do-over.
I was elected in 2014 to serve as Vice President. That made me President for our 2015/2016 year. In November of 2015, shortly after I was sworn in as President, I was diagnosed with melanoma. I spent most of 2016 recovering from surgery and undergoing radiation and immunotherapy treatment. The remaining members of your Chapter Board of Directors did a fantastic job of filling in when I couldn't be around. But I missed out on so much!
I am happy to report that I am healthy and cancer free. And that means, as luck would have it (due to an unexpected vacancy), I get to do this all over again!
We have big plans for 2018! The Chapter Board of Directors and some additional members met a couple of weeks ago to lay the groundwork for the year. We are putting together plans for a February meeting in Portland, Education Day in Olympia in May, and a July meeting in Seattle.
We might be the smallest chapter. And I could be biased. But I think we are the best! 2018 is going to be a great year. I can't wait to see you all. Whether it's in Portland, Olympia, Seattle or Nashville, TN for Annual Conference. I'll see you there!
