CENTER FOR INSURANCE EDUCATION
Responding to the need of the insurance industry for more and better-educated employees, the insurance concentration and the Center for Insurance Education (CIE) were instituted in 1978 at the Howard University School of Business. Our primary objective is to provide a constant flow of well-qualified graduates for the multi career opportunities of the insurance industry.
CIE activities include: (1) recruiting new students from variety of sources; (2) providing students with opportunities for professional development; (3) recognizing the achievements of students; (4) awarding scholarships to deserving as well as needy students; and (5) raising funds for Center activities.
Center Opportunities
The Center administers and extensive employment interview and placement program for students who are registered with the CIE. As a result of direct requests by the Center to insurers and others, coupled with opportunities received from the many college-relations representatives for these companies, we engage in a long yearlong effort to find employment for our students. In this connection, we solicit the help of both the School of Business Center for Professional Development and the University Career Planning and Placement Service.Daytona Beach Community College
